Hästens

Hästens wanted to tell the story of how its beds are made in Köping, Sweden, without it becoming a product film. With Emil Thorup as host, I produced this documentary-style film. The idea was to let the craftsmanship carry the story: the fabric, the workshop and Emil’s impressions from his visit to the factory.

How I approached it

I filmed on a cinema camera with the available light in the workshop, so the space could look the way it really does. The interview was a conversation rather than a list of questions, and the edit is built around the lines that actually landed — not around a script written in advance.
